The Ultimate Flying Ride

FlyOver Las Vegas is the newest attraction on the Las Vegas Strip. “Experience the magical feeling of flight through immersive, state-of-the-art technology that lets you dip and dive across awe-inspiring landscapes, all without leaving The Strip.” The experience hangs guests over a 52.5-foot wide Spherical screen that combines flight motion seats and atmospheric effects to fully immerse guests into the flight of a lifetime. The Show is still running so feel free to go and visit!

My Involvement

I joined the team as a Ride Operator at the end of the installation period for the new attraction. I was part of the team that help to troubleshoot issues in the final versions of the project including building systems, Audio Video systems, preventative maintenance, and ride automation systems. I was also part of the implementation of procedures for the day-to-day operations of the ride and refining guest experience. The Experience is around 30 minutes per show and the Las Vegas location has two identical theatres and two different experiences, FlyOver Iceland and their signature experience FlyOver the Real Wild West. These experiences come with a short boarding show, a Pre-Show, safety instructions, and the 4D Motion synced iRide. The day-to-day duties included some preventative maintenance work, operating building systems, ensuring correct operations, troubleshooting issues, and operating the ride automation systems. FlyOver Las Vegas is still in operation and is a great time for Vegas visitors and locals alike!

Although I would have liked to spend some more time with FlyOver and Pursuit, I am glad to have been part of the instilation. This new expirience has expanded my skills in automation and large systems maintenance, inspection, and installation. I look forward to being able to bring my newfound knowlege with me as I continue to pursue one-of-a-kind expiriences.
